Observations Continued

AJ Duffy continues to progress, and the coaching staff installing way more than usual early in fall camp seems to be a move towards the future.

Duffy will be fine as a potential redshirt freshman to lead the team next year. We see young quarterbacks produce results every year, and he has a lot of things in his favor.

He was an early enrollee, talented, and should have an even better offensive line in 2023, along with experienced weapons at wide receiver. They’ll likely have a solid stable of running backs too.

Not to mention Duffy will continue to receive reps this fall, next spring, summer, and next fall to improve his game. I think we’ll see some freshmen play a lot of snaps in 2022.

Azareya’h Thomas, Sam McCall, and Rodney Hill have flashed in fall camp. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Brian Courtney make a couple of catches this season, especially if injuries continue to hinder some upperclassmen.

He’s an athletic freak and can definitely help on special teams, as can the others listed. I expect special teams to be better because of better athletes on the field in those positions too.
