FSU Has To Play Games And Win

Nothing will help Mike Norvell and staff more than FSU football going out and winning games in 2022.
That alone will answer questions for recruits and parents going forward. Right now, it’s too easy for other schools to negatively recruit.

They can point to FSU’s record under Mike Norvell. They can claim uncertainty around Mike Norvell’s future at FSU if he doesn’t win in 2022. I’ve gone on record several times that FSU needs to win at least eight games to dispel the negative recruiting and secure the future for Mike Norvell at FSU.

I don’t think he’ll get fired if he only wins seven games, but eight wins is a significant step forward and mean FSU beat some teams on the schedule they haven’t beaten in a few years.

That would also mean FSU Athletic Director Michael Alford could justify giving Norvell an extension which would allow Norvell to make the necessary coaching upgrades on the staff.

An eight-win season cures a lot of things. If FSU football wins eight games in 2022, fans will contribute more readily to Seminole Boosters and the Rising Spear Collective, and both are huge in attracting elite recruits.
