Defensive Backs/Linebacker

These areas are the areas I have the most concern about because the coaching staff doesn’t have many quality targets left on the board at these positions and only has two commits.

The Noles only took one prep linebacker and two top 100 defensive backs in the 2022 recruiting cycle. They have one somewhat realistic blue-chip linebacker target in Blake Nichelson to go with current three-star commit DeMarco Ward.

The Noles have a three-star athlete(he will play safety), Quindarrius Jones committed, and no realistic blue-chip cornerbacks or safety targets.

The additions of the two top 100 defensive backs last recruiting cycle take off a little pressure, and they have a couple of three-star safety targets like Kenton Kirkland Jaremiah Anglin Jr.

If they miss on Nichelson at linebacker, they could settle for raiding the transfer portal again, and they likely only lose one or two defensive backs off this year’s team.

The defensive back position could be more difficult to attain quality defensive backs from the portal because most are looking for a starting position. Maybe a solid start to the season can help them insert themselves back into the mix with more targets too.
