Antavious Woody is the lone remaining unsigned commit for FSU football in its 2022 recruiting cycle. However, that could change Monday if Woody arrives in Tallahassee as expected.

Woody said he planned to arrive on June 20th, but that date moved up a week, according to his latest update. Woody committed to the Noles over Auburn on June 28, 2021, but didn’t sign early or on National Signing Day.

There was work remaining in the classroom before that could happen. A four-star recruit at the time of his commitment, Woody saw his ranking drop to a composite three-star, but he’s a four-star quality talent on the football field that can play on both sides of the ball.

However, FSU likes him on the offensive, likely at guard or center. He has put in some blue-chip work to put himself in a position to arrive in Tallahassee, so credit to him for that because often, players in that position don’t accomplish what he did to stick with their original commitment.

Woody will make six prep offensive linemen enrolled from the 2022 recruiting cycle, arguably one of the best hauls in the country.

What’s the impact of Woody’s arrival?

Well, he’s a talented prospect that can likely contribute after a redshirt season. His arrival means the coaching staff can continue being selective with who they take as commits and sign in the 2023 recruiting cycle. .

They likely won’t have to use the transfer portal much to continue addressing the offensive line in 2023. FSU doesn’t want to get into the habit accepting commitments from players that may not qualify, but they can use Woody as an example of how they stuck with him throughout the process.

Again, credit has to Woody for sticking with FSU football commitment. The 2022 offensive line haul reminds me of the group that help form FSU’s offensive line during their conference title runs early in Jimbo Fisher’s tenure.

All of them coming together should help form great chemistry and development, which should pay off as they will help protect the likely QB of the future, AJ Duffy. Congrats Antavious, and welcome to Tally!
