FSU football recruiting continues to stay blazing hot on the recruiting trails. 2022 blue-chip Antavious Woody commits to the Noles.

I hinted at the possibility in this morning’s post, and those that follow recruiting closely were not surprised by the news.

Woody plays both ways in high school in the trenches, but FSU coaches like him on the offensive line.

Woody announced his commitment via his Twitter account Monday afternoon:

Antavious Woody is the No. 14 commitment in the 2022 FSU recruiting class. He checks in at 6’3″ and 291 pounds with 12 offers. He chooses the Noles over in-state schools like Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Woody ranks as the No. 244 player overall and No. 12 player in Alabama. I like the versatility of Woody and think he has more value as a defensive tackle for FSU considering how there are not many quality defensive tackles on the board.

Those reps are defensive tackle are impressive. FSU already has four offensive linemen in the recruiting class with several targets remaining. I think the Noles will take about six total, so Woody could make the transition to defensive tackle if the numbers shake a certain way.

Either way, he’s an impressive big man on both sides of the ball and is the type of player FSU needs in the trenches if they want to turn the program around.

This addition will push FSU football to No. 3 in the national recruiting rankings, with about 10-11 spots remaining in the class. I would expect a couple of more additions in the next week or so to continue the addition of huge mammals joining the program. I keep saying it, but if the Noles are remotely competitive this fall, things will get spooky in Tallahassee for the first time in a while!
