Trey Benson

Running back was a position I felt decently with going into the season, and that was before we ever saw Trey Benson at practice.

Arguably the most controversial take from the transfer portal in some time for FSU fans, Benson showed why Mike Norvell and the coaching staff were willing to take a chance on him, despite coming off a bad knee injury.

Benson impressed this spring camp, running with a combination of size and speed that lead many to believe he can and will be RB1 at some point this season.

His performance in the spring game should have helped alleviate any concerns about his ability. Running back is a position group Mike Norvell excels at in getting production.

We saw Jashaun Corbin excel in 2021 and will likely become an NFL Draft selection next week. Benson could become a better version of that if his progression continues.
