Better Depth Than Last Year

The quarterback position still worries me from a depth perspective. If you could guarantee Jordan Travis would be healthy all season?

I’d pencil FSU in for 7+ wins, no question. However, Tate Rodemaker didn’t make me confident he could be a viable backup, and AJ Duffy is a true freshman still learning.

Jordan Travis did display the ability to play smarter as the season progressed. He did a better job of avoiding big hits when he could, which should help avoid injuries.

However, aside from QB and the offensive line, FSU is solid at nearly every position. One worry I had going into last year was the drop-off once starters went out of the game. Unfortunately, those worries came to fruition at QB and the offensive line.

FSU will likely bring more help from the transfer portal in the next month, particularly at the offensive line. I’m still not sold on a transfer QB enrolling this summer and learning the playbook enough to not be a waste of a scholarship.

Defensively, there’s good depth on the offensive line and linebacker spots. The secondary is one of the more talented units on the team. The backups have some game experience.
