FSU football: 3 questions entering ‘Noles second scrimmage
By Kelvin Hunt
Will Tate Rodemaker Play Well?
Tate Rodemaker has had a great spring camp so far. What he tweeted earlier this week supports the sentiment he’s taken it personally to prove people wrong.
I don’t mind that approach because whatever it takes to motivate you to perform at a higher level is fine.
Tate Rodemaker has had a great spring camp so far. What he tweeted earlier this week supports the sentiment he’s taken it personally to prove people wrong. I don’t mind that approach because whatever it takes to motivate you to perform at a higher level is fine. I can’t stress the importance of Rodemaker’s development.
It could determine if they take another transfer quarterback or not. I’ve long supported the notion they needed to do so, but I don’t think it’s worth it now. I don’t think there’s enough value to using that scholarship on someone that will likely not make the team better. I’d rather they use that spot for an extra offensive lineman or linebacker, or wide receiver.
Though, I’m hesitant on the latter because of how hard it would be for a receiver to learn the offense in such a short period if they didn’t arrive until the summer or fall. We saw that issue with Andrew Parchment last season. The fact that this scrimmage will be more game-like, should give a better reading on Rodemaker’s progression since last year.
Again, it’s still not a real game, but we won’t have that opportunity until the season begins. Nevertheless, these are the three things I’ll be looking for on Saturday.
