FSU football: 3 storylines developing halfway through 2022 spring camp

Tate Rodemaker Emering As Solid Backup?
One of the biggest issues for FSU football the past few years has been quarterback play and depth at the position. Since 2017, the Noles have had a problem with one or the other.
It’s one reason why Mike Norvell signed two quarterbacks within his first 10 days of taking the job at FSU. One of those quarterbacks, Tate Rodemaker, seems to finally be making progress in his third year in the system.
Rodemaker realizes he should be making progress, given it’s his third year in the system, and admitted as much in a post-practice interview a few days ago. Backup quarterbacks don’t get much attention under normal circumstances, but the injury history of Jordan Travis makes it something worth monitoring.
We saw the offense fall off a cliff once Jordan Travis exited a game or didn’t start. I know Tate Rodemaker is doing it in practice, and we still need to see him doing it in actual games.
However, he is making plays in practice much more consistently than ever before. Is it enough progress to not worry should something happen to Jordan Travis?
I hope we never have to find out, but at least he’s progressing.
