QB Situation

FSU football will go into the 2021 season in better shape at the quarterback position than in the past several seasons.

I say that from a proven commodity perspective because I believe Jordan Travis is the best option they’ve had(when healthy) since Deondre Francois, but the Noles still have issues with depth.

Tate Rodemaker goes into his third year with little to no experience, and freshman AJ Duffy just enrolled this spring. I’ve been an advocate of adding a quarterback from the transfer portal.

Jordan Travis has yet to prove he can complete a season without missing time with an injury. If you could guarantee Travis would stay healthy the entire year? I’d put money on FSU winning at least seven games in 2022.

However, that’s not likely, so the question is, will FSU coaches eventually add a QB? Shouldn’t Tate Rodemaker be serviceable in a backup role with another offseason under his belt? I would think so. I mean, Sean Maguire beat Clemson in 2014 as a sophomore.

I know he had more talent around him, but he had nearly the same high school ranking as Rodemaker. The health of the QB position will be a key piece in determining the success of the season.
