FSU football: 2022 ACC schedule game placement will be pivotal
By Kelvin Hunt
Need Early Wins
The good news is all eight conference games appear winnable. What I mean is in the past few years, you could circle one or two games as definitive losses before the conference released the schedule. There’s no question the Noles will be betting underdogs in a few games, but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they won those games. These are the games I expect FSU to be betting favorites:
- Syracuse (A)
- Georgia Tech (H)
- Boston College (H)
It would be great if the Noles could get one or two of these games early in the schedule. I’m a firm believer in early wins producing confidence and momentum.
Though depth will see an improvement, it’s still likely for injuries to accumulate the deeper we get into the season. That means the more winnable games earlier in the season, the better.
The placement of the bye-week will prove important also. The Noles have had a tough slate of games late in the season the past few years. It was @ Clemson, NC State, Miami, @Boston College, and @Florida to finish the year. We already know FSU will have a small reprieve with the Louisiana game before the Florida game in 2022. A well-timed bye-week could mean the difference in 1-2 games.
