FSU basketball: Noles look to avoid letdown against North Florida
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU basketball will take on North Florida in a makeup game that had to be postponed earlier in the season. We discuss the betting odds, how to watch, and a prediction.
FSU basketball (11-5, 5-2 ACC) will look to win their fifth consecutive game when they host North Florida (4-14) Thursday afternoon. The Noles upset No. 6 Duke Tuesday night in overtime, and Thursday will be a quick turnaround for the Noles.
North Florida (4-14) have lost five consecutive games, including their last outing against Kennesaw State.
FSU basketball vs. North Florida Odds and Prediction
WynnBET’s doesn’t have odds on this game but the Noles are near 21.5 point betting favorites at home. North Florida checks in at No. 302 in the latest KenPom rankings, and the Noles checked in at No. 49. North Florida has the No. 288 ranked offense and the No. 298 defense. The Ospreys average 68 ppg and have two starters averaging in double figures, while shooting 40.6 percent from the floor. They average 32 percent from three-point land and 73 percent from the charity stripe. They average 15 turnovers per game.
This is a game FSU basketball should easily win, but I expect them to come out a little flat with the quick turnaround. Also, the game is much earlier than usual, so I doubt the Tucker Center will have its normal electric environment. Hopefully, it’s a game the Noles can build a lead early and rest their starters since they have another quick turnaround when they travel to Miami Saturday afternoon. A win over Miami would put the Noles atop the ACC standings.
Prediction: FSU 79, North Florida 63
