I wrote about a week ago how we could expect more attrition from the FSU football roster to take place in the coming weeks and months.

The writing has been on the wall with how the coaching staff pursued different positions from the transfer portal since the Early Signing Period ended.

Several players that likely will not see the field in the future remain on the roster, and one of them decided to enter the transfer portal Thursday afternoon.

Former three-star linebacker Jordan Eubanks announced the news from his Twitter account:

This news comes a day after FSU got a linebacker commitment from former UCF linebacker Tatum Bethune who’ll have two years of eligibility left. Eubanks didn’t appear in any games as a true freshman in 2021 and probably saw the writing on the wall.

However, he did the smart thing of waiting for the spring semester to begin so he’ll be covered for the spring semester at FSU unless he finds a new home immediately. Eubanks originally hails from Denton, Texas, and was the No. 940 player and No. 97 linebacker nationally.

I believe he was one of a few players from the 2021 class that committed to the staff without ever visiting Tallahassee, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was a good guy by all accounts, but it makes sense for him to enter the transfer portal to find the right fit.

I’d be interested to see if former FSU linebackers coach Chris Marve will offer him now that he’s at Virginia Tech. He was the position coach when Eubanks committed to FSU football in May 2020.

FSU will likely remain active in the transfer portal through the spring semester as the coaches look to solidify a couple of more positions. Good luck to Jordan Eubanks wherever he ends up!
