Jaron Willis

If you follow FSU football recruiting, this name likely rings a bell. Jaron Willis is a Georgia Tech commit that’s flirted heavily with the Noles the entire recruiting cycle. The sticking point is FSU wants him as a linebacker, and Georgia Tech is promising he can play safety.

He wants to play safety but is too big at 6’2″ and 225 pounds. He’d be perfect at linebacker and more physically ready to play than Bissainthe as a freshman. He’s ranked higher than Bissainthe as the No. 169 player overall and No. 17 linebacker.

He’s also a high school teammate with current FSU offensive line commit Quashon Sapp. There have been some shenanigans with his recruitment that I won’t go into, but there’s a reason the staff has kept in contact with him throughout the process.

He’s talented, and dealing with south Florida players is always tricky. Georgia Tech has a terrible program, and their coach is on the hot seat, not to mention they have already had some turnover on that staff. The kid has said FSU is his dream school several times. Willis is a player Chris Marve has to flip if he wants to save face with FSU fans.
