How FSU Benefits

The benefits for FSU football are plentiful because of the instability Miami is facing right now. If they fire Manny Diaz after the Duke game Saturday, they don’t have an athletic director in place to make a hire.

If they don’t fire Manny Diaz, there’s a great possibility he won’t be there after the 2022 season unless they win the ACC Conference or something wild. That hasn’t happened since Miami joined the conference, so I hope Miami fans aren’t holding their breath.

If they don’t fire him, it seems like Miami fans will withdraw their support, the little of which they do provide. If Rhett Lashlee leaves, who would Manny hire to replace him? All of these things will ultimately impact recruiting from the 2022 class and beyond.

It’ll also impact players on the current roster while FSU will reel in a top 10 class more than likely and have continuity for the third consecutive year. FSU has a head start on the 2023-24 recruiting classes and a win over the Canes this year with a lesser roster.

The ‘Canes administration has some tough decisions ahead, and if they fail to make the right calculations? They will continue to wallow in mediocrity for the foreseeable future while FSU football leaves them in the dust.
