FSU football: Top 3 Boston College weaknesses that benefit the Noles
By Kelvin Hunt
Lack Of A Pass Rush
The FSU offense is limited in some respects, and one of the things that give them problems is a pass rush defense that can consistently get after the quarterback.
I’m here to tell you Boston College hasn’t been one of those teams all year. They rank No. 108 in the nation with 17 sacks and only have 19 hurries against a lot of lackluster competition.
Jordan Travis has been sacked 19 times, but 10 of those sacks came in two games against two of the better defenses nationally (Notre Dame and Clemson).
Miami sacked Jordan Travis three times on 26 pass attempts last week, but Boston College doesn’t have the defensive line talent of Miami.
It’s not a game where I expect Jordan Travis to throw the ball 25-30 times, and we’ll talk about that more later.
However, it’s good to know he’ll likely have time to throw or scramble should FSU wind up in predictable passing situations.
To put it in perspective, Boston College didn’t have a single sack against UMASS.
