FSU football: State of Florida ripe for Noles to take back over

Miami
The days of Miami as an elite program in college football have been over for two decades, and there’s no sign they’ll ever be what they used to be. Miami sits in a talent-rich area that isn’t a secret anymore.
Teams from outside of the state along with FSU have raided that area for the best of the best players. Miami can’t keep those players home because they don’t have the resources to compete. It’s why Manny Diaz will likely be the coach there next year, even though every Miami fan wanted him fired once they fell to 2-4.
A three-game winning streak before the FSU game gave him a lifeline with them, but the loss to the Noles Saturday made them turn their backs on him again.
Their 2022 recruiting class is abysmal, ranking No. 61 in the load more category on 247 Sports. They only have eight commits and only one offensive lineman, and no defensive linemen.
The quarterback commit isn’t good, and there is no sign they’ll sign any good players from high school. Manny Diaz said he’s going to make up for it in the transfer portal. While they’ve had some success in the portal, I don’t see where any difference-makers will want to go there after the product Miami put on the field in 2021.
Miami under Manny Diaz will never win anything, and his defense is the weakest part of the team, which speaks volumes as a defensive-minded coach that calls the defense. If Miami lifted up the cushions to scrape up the money to fire him?
Who would want to go there, not to mention USC and LSU will be looking to hire head coaches. Both of those programs are much better jobs than Miami.
