FSU football head coach Mike Norvell has THE signature win needed after a 0-4 start to the 2021 season. The ‘Noles improbable comeback in the fourth quarter after relinquishing the lead tells you all you need to know about the change in the FSU program.

FSU likely should have won the game going away, forcing three Miami turnovers in the first half and missing a field goal. However, the Noles could only muster 10-points off those three turnovers, which kept a potent Miami offense within striking distance. It was a game of momentum swings, just like most heated rivalries.

The start of the fourth quarter saw Miami jumping up and down on the FSU logo, which prompted FSU players to storm the field, and the referees had to issue warnings to both teams. There are a few questionable coaching decisions that didn’t help the Noles either.

I thought Mike Norvell should have punted instead of attempting the long field goal. The FSU defense had been playing lights out, and that missed field goal gave them good field position and some momentum that turned into a touchdown.

I wasn’t in love with a few of the play calls either, passing the ball on third and one from the shotgun? However, the players found a way to win, and let’s look at three key takeaways from the game.
