FSU football coaches made good use of the bye-week by reaching out to recruits and coaches.

Players are always emerging as they develop, and the Noles have found a player they like in 2022 WR Camden Brown.

Brown is a current commit to ACC foe Pittsburgh but hails from power-house St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The wide receiver received an offer from the Noles Tuesday night:

Camden Brown ranks as the No. 606 player nationally and No. 84 wide receiver. He checks in at 6’3″ and 190 pounds with 20 offers from places like Pittsburgh, Syracuse, West Virginia, Auburn, Kentucky, Indiana, Ole Miss, Virginia, and others.

Brown committed to the Pittsburgh Panthers on June 27 after officially visiting on June 25th. Brown isn’t someone brand new on FSU’s recruiting board as he visited Tallahassee for camp on June 5.

FSU is the only in-state school to offer him, and he seems like he could be similar to former FSU recruiting target Jaleel Skinner. Skinner lists as a tight end, but FSU considered him as a wide receiver. Brown’s film looks like he’s not a burner speed-wise, but catches the ball with strong hands and has outstanding body control.

One thing that stood out several times in his highlights was his propensity to catch back-shoulder throws, and that’s a staple in Mike Norvell’s offense. Brown would be a great piece coupled with current commit DeVaughn Mortimer and five-star recruiting target, Kevin Coleman.

Brown tweeted he planned to be at the Pittsburgh vs. Clemson game Saturday before the FSU offer came. If the Noles can get him on campus for an official visit, that would be a good sign. I think the most likely scenario would be the Miami game, as that’s when several recruits plan to be on campus again.
