FSU football coaches have done a great job of addressing the offensive line in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

The Noles had four offensive line commitments going into Sunday and added another addition when three-star offensive tackle Daughtry Richardson committed to the Noles over Miami Sunday afternoon.

Richardson is a Tallahassee native who plays high school football Miami Central(the home of FSU great Dalvin Cook). It was a fierce battle, as Miami is in dire need of offensive linemen and recruiting momentum.

However, Mike Norvell and the coaching staff continue to prove the fake momentum is for real. Now, Miami head coach Manny Diaz can get a taste of it first-hand.

Daughtry Richardson ranks as the No. 452 player and No. 44 offensive tackle. He holds offers from FSU, Miami, Arizona State, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Oregon, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and other schools.

Richardson checks in at 6’4 and 285 pounds.

It’s always been an FSU and Miami battle, with Kentucky attempting to make a run in the last couple of weeks. FSU football had 100 percent of the 247 Crystal Ball predictions.

The commitment does a couple of things for the Noles. It’s a win over a rival on the recruiting trail for a guy in Miami’s backyard. Ricardson having family in Tallahassee helped, and it gives the Noles an offensive tackle, which has been a huge need this recruiting cycle.

The commitment also helps clear up the offensive line board. The Noles have a few targets remaining in Elijah Prichett, Jaylen Early, Eston Harris Jr., and Julian Armella.

Early expects to announce his decision in a couple of weeks, and FSU seems to be in a good position with Pritchett. Harris Jr. is visiting Tallahassee this weekend. Armella is a legacy recruit who’ll likely wait to make an announcement later in the recruiting cycle.

The addition of Richardson gives FSU 16 commitments and moves the Noles to No. 8 in the national rankings.
