Team Effort
The coaching staff was already working hard, but the addition of Ryan Bartow has been a game-changer. I wrote about the impact of the hire when it took place.
Mike Norvell has added some other key hires in off-the-field roles that have paid dividends as well. However, one of the greatest attributes of this staff is their ability to work together as one unit.
We’ve got FSU defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson using his connections to attract guys in the trenches. Running back coach David Johnson is using connections to attract guys in the trenches.
Some of the off-the-field analysts have strong ties to South Florida, which has gotten the Noles in the mix for some quality players.
The graduate assistants and analysts all have important roles in working with recruits when they arrive on campus, and everything is well organized and time-efficient.
The social media team is light-years better than they were two years ago and helps generate excitement on social media. However, one of the most important aspects is most recruits communicating with the staff showing them love and they are wanted.
Players are receiving tons of attention despite tons of other players on campus at the same time, and that’s why the entire staff having recruiting roles has proven crucial.
I don’t know if I’ve seen a head coach more involved in recruiting than Mike Norvell. The amount of time he’s spent meeting with individual players and the energy he has brought has been contagious.
