Is recruiting momentum foreshadowing of better on field product in 2021?

Power of Preparation
One of the most important characteristics a head coach can have is the ability to plan and organize. That’s why Jimbo Fisher had so much success in his early years at FSU.
We heard quite the opposite about Willie Taggart, and we saw the fruition of that in a terrible product on the field and holes all over the roster.
Mike Norvell and the coaching staff used the COVID year to make up ground without face-to-face interactions with recruits for almost a year and a half.
The staff buried themselves into recruiting tapes and got a head start on the 2022 class, offering kids at a blistering pace and establishing rapport through zoom meetings, and playing video games with recruits.
The key was establishing those relationships, so when the time came for face-to-face interactions to become available, FSU would be the spot those recruits would want to visit.
That’s why the Midnight Madness event was so successful. The coaches identified recruits or commits they had not met yet to get them on campus.
A lot of FSU fans whined and complained when there were no commits after that event. However, several players that were there have already committed, and more are sure to come.
The ability to evaluate and plan would be similar to how coaching staffs will evaluate opponents and game plan on the best way to attack and defend.
Not only is there a plan, but there’s a plan A, B, C, and D with this coaching staff. They seem to know what buttons to push to get the best results on the recruiting trail.
That should translate to preparing the team to play in the fall.
The next part is building trust.
