Something To Watch

We know FSU football coaches are in pursuit of another transfer offensive lineman in Oklahoma’s Stacey Wilkins.

It’s believed the Noles have one more scholarship that will count back to the 2021 recruiting class.

However, the coaching staff offered another player from the transfer portal in Alabama A&M’s defensive end Marcus Cushnie within the last week.

Here’s something to keep an eye on. If the Noles gain a commitment from Wilkins and Cushnie? Why else would both receive offers unless one of them expects to be a preferred walk-on? I’m not sure that’s the case.

I think that could mean Destyn Hill will not enroll this fall semester, and his scholarship would be used on one of those two players.

Hill could be counted towards the 2022 class if he didn’t enroll until the spring semester.

At that point, he could be treated as an early enrollee of the 2022 recruiting class, which would help him have a greater impact as a freshman in the 2022 season.

Wilkins and Cushnie are players who could help the Noles in positions of need. Wilkins has four years of eligibility left, and Cushnie has two years left. If the Noles only pick up one of those players, that leaves things a bit more open-ended, and Hill could enroll by this fall.

I think the staff expects to land at least one of those players.
