Worst Case

The FSU football schedule could be broke into three types of games. There are games the Noles will likely be sizable betting underdogs.

  • Notre Dame
  • Clemson
  • North Carolina
  • Florida
  • Miami

These are the games where FSU will be sizable betting favorites:

  • Jacksonville State
  • UMASS
  • Syracuse

These are the games where it’ll likely be a toss-up or less than a touchdown betting spread:

  • @ Wake Forest
  • Louisville
  • NC State
  • @Boston College

The worst-case scenario is the Noles lose the opener against Notre Dame and the first road game at Wake Forest. That would put them at 1-2 going into a toss-up game against Louisville.

If they lose the Louisville game, they would go into the game at North Carolina at 2-3. A loss there puts them at 2-4. They should beat UMASS, which puts them at 3-4 going into games against Clemson, NC State, and Miami.

The Noles could conceivably lose all three of those games, which would put their record at 3-7 with two games left against Boston College and Florida. Let’s say they beat Boston College and lose against Florida to finish 4-8. That would be an awful outcome.
