The biggest reason Marvin Wilson went undrafted is that he looked like a shell of himself in 2021, coupled with the things listed in No. 2 and No. 3.

Maybe he played injured, but that’s also something that would concern teams(missing several games with an injury).

Wilson appeared in six games and only had 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, two QB hurries, and one sack. The sack came against FCS foe Jacksonville State.

I’m not sure if Wilson thought he was a lock to be a first or second-round pick based on 2020 projections or what. However, he didn’t seem to play with the same passion and desire as the year before.

I remember the Marvin Wilson I saw playing against Louisville in 2019, and that motor was non-existent in 2020.

As a player, that’s the one thing they can control, and it had to be one of the biggest turnoffs for teams who plan on investing millions in players taken in the first couple of rounds.

I’m happy he wasn’t drafted in the sixth or seventh round because he at least had some leverage regarding who he chooses to sign with. It looks like he will make some money and have a shot at trying to make the team, but I hope it goes as a lesson for all college players.

If Wilson played injured, I think that would have been communicated by those in the know and teams would have adjusted accordingly. There’s a certain way to do things and always give everything you have when you’re out there on that field. Good luck to him, and I hope he makes the best of his situation.
