FSU Will Be Fine At QB

The quarterback position has been a weakness for the Noles since Jameis Winston declared for the NFL Draft after the 2014 season.

However, the 2021 season will be the first year I feel comfortable with the position in a long time. McKenzie Milton needs to continue his knowledge of the playbook, and he’ll be a fine option when that happens.

We saw what Jordan Travis brings to the table last year, and he looks improved as a passer through spring camp. I saw him work through some progressions and not take off immediately after the first read wasn’t available.

I don’t know who’ll win the quarterback competition, but I feel confident with either guy.

The only concerning thing is Travis and his propensity to get hurt with his style of play. Hopefully, his improvement as a passer will allow him to not rely on his legs as much.

Milton looks fine physically, but he won’t be tackled until he’s in an actual game, so there’s always concern after the injury suffered in 2018.

Here’s the thing, FSU having both players available and capable of leading the offense is something most teams don’t have when it comes to QB depth.
