Physicality

Of course, I’m praying nobody gets injured during the scrimmage, and I know we’re all on the same team Saturday at the end of the day.

However, it’s a contact sport, and physicality is something Mike Norvell and the coaching staff have emphasized the entire spring camp.

When was the last time an FSU football team imposed its will on someone? Remember the days of FSU football beating teams before they ever took the field because they knew what was coming when the game started?

I want to see a defense that’s fast and aggressive. A defense that attacks the offense and makes them execute things instead of giving up easy plays.

When players go to tackle, I want to see the ball carrier fall backward instead of falling forward for three to four yards.

I want to see the defensive line move the line of scrimmage backward. I know that doesn’t mean good things for the FSU offensive line if that happens, but it’s worse if the defensive line can’t do it.
