FSU football: 3 defensive things to look for in 2021 spring game
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football will have its 2021 spring game Saturday at 5 p.m. in Doak Campbell Stadium. The game will air on the ACC Network and will likely stream on ESPN3 if you have a cable provider.
There are several storylines as the game approaches. I wrote about some of the offensive things I was looking for earlier in the week.
I know a lot of folks are interested in the quarterback battle between Jordan Travis and McKenzie Milton.
The number of recruits planning to attend the game is unlike I can recall in recent memory. New players were announcing they were planning to come to Tallahassee as late as Friday evening.
I’ve written about my faith in Mike Norvell and Kenny Dillingham improving the offense this year. They have a proven track record, and the quarterback position should be a strength, along with an improving offensive line.
However, it’s the defense of Adam Fuller that I’m most unsure about after a tough first season. I want to believe the biggest issue was not having a legitimate spring camp to implement things like normal.
I’m sure the players experiencing their third defensive coordinator since 2017 didn’t help things either. Not to mention, the players experienced playing both a 3-4 and a 4-3 defense in 2019.
I’m most interested in what the defense will look like Saturday. Here are three things I’ll be looking for on that side of the ball.
