FSU Football: Storylines and names to watch after spring camp week three
By Cole Maines
The team’s youth is still getting major looks throughout the spring evaluation process.
I talked glowingly last week about Jackson West. Lawrence Taofili has done well thus far. Corey Wren looks good healthy.

Travis Jay is “a stud” but has to work on his mental quickness. Kevin Knowles gets complimented a couple of times a week from teammates and coaches, and he had a big week this week.
Coach Woodson said he “is mature beyond his years, and his future is bright.” Jammie Robinson said, “he is good in one on one and good with his technique,” and Jarrian Jones called him a “competitor.” He is definitely “in the mix” of players vying for playing time.
The freshman pair of wideouts have been singled out once a week by nearly every coach and player and have made a major impact thus far. It’s best summed up as “them boys real” per Jones and Robinson.
Poitier has had a strong spring and is building on becoming more consistent although that didn’t show up in the scrimmage. He has strong hands and excels at the back shoulder technique.
Darion Williamson and Ja’khi Douglas were both singled out by Coach Norvell and Coach Dugans.
I’m fearful about Bryan Robinson. He hasn’t been mentioned much in interviews but was featured in pictures frequently. I wonder if his injuries have forced him to the back of the room.
Robinson out for a while has affected his conditioning and his consistency. Dugans said “this is his first time practicing for a while,” and it shows.
The biggest thing for the young wideouts is if they have “a bad case of the wants,” said Coach Dugans.
Not to mention young players who have already stepped up in previous seasons like Robert Scott, Stephen Dix, and Jarvis Brownlee.
It’ll be interesting to see how they all grow.
