2021 Recruiting

FSU signed some players that could potentially play defensive tackle. They signed a South Carolina transfer Keir Thomas who has one year of eligibility left.

Blue-chip Shambre Jackson and three-star Joshua Farmer have the potential to play defensive tackle as they continue to physically mature and develop.

So, the coaching staff addressed the position, but it’s more of a band-aid than anything.

Thomas will be gone after next year, and Robert Cooper, Fabien Lovett, and Dennis Briggs Jr. could declare for the NFL Draft IF they had monster years in 2021.

Now, I don’t expect to lose ALL of those players, but it’s still possible and would put the coaching staff in a bind because the position has been neglected the past few recruiting cycles.

When was the last time the FSU defensive line was a strength of the team? It’s been a while, so they will have to address this position in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

It’s OK to use the transfer portal, but you can’t keep putting band-aids on a wound that needs stitches to stop the bleeding.
