FSU football has the No. 22 ranked recruiting class in the nation with its 2021 group. The coaching staff did a great job evaluating the roster and identifying areas of weakness to address on the recruiting trails.

They addressed the offensive line(and will likely add one more), wide receivers, and defensive end positions.

McKenzie Milton was big after Luke Alymyer de-committed, and FSU may ultimately be better because of that move in the short and long run.

However, one area of concern has been recruiting at the defensive tackle position. The Noles have gone three recruiting cycles without signing a blue-chip (high school player).

Robert Cooper and Dennis Briggs Jr. were the last two to sign in 2018. Technically, Mike Norvell signed Manny Rodgers, who originally committed to Willie Taggart in the 2020 class, but he didn’t qualify.

The coaching staff was able to sign Fabien Lovett from the transfer portal as the lone defensive tackle in the 2020 class.

Lovett was a three-star recruit out of high school and declared a four-star recruit as a transfer. His addition was huge, considering we knew Marvin Wilson and Cory Durden would be leaving the program soon.

However, those two players are no longer with the program, and FSU went the 2021 cycle without signing another blue-chip defensive tackle out of high school.
