Update

This announcement  came up late Monday night night after this preview was written, but here are my thoughts on the team right now. Hopefully, this break will get this team back on track like the last break.

No. 20 FSU basketball (10-3, 6-2 ACC) looks to get back on track when they travel to Boston College Tuesday night in ACC action.

The Noles are coming off arguably their most disappointing effort of the season in their last outing against Georgia Tech.

The loss brought their five game winning streak to a screeching halt and the Noles will take on a short-handed Boston College team that’s lost four of their last five games.

FSU will enter the game as -14 point betting favorites with an over/under total of 148, according to the Action network.

Those lines indicate oddsmakers are projecting a score of 81-67.

That’s what I mean by short-handed. I’m a little surprised the game is being played under the circumstances, but it’s a home game, and it was likely Boston College was going to be large betting underdogs regardless.

It’s a way for them to make some revenue in a climate where that’s hard to come by due to COVID-19.

FSU needs to get its act together as they have become complacent with playing down to their level of competition. It’s something we saw against Miami, and it carried over to the Georgia Tech game.

The difference is Georgia Tech had enough firepower to make the Noles pay for their sloppy, and frankly, uninspired play for much of the game.

The Noles will continue to be without guard Anthony Polite, who’s battling a shoulder injury. This is a game the Noles should win handily, but I hope to see the team that ran through NC State, North Carolina, Louisville, and Clemson.

If not, they might find it’s not as easy to toggle the on/off switch as the thought when they take on better competition next week.

The game will air on the ACC Network at 9 p.m. Be sure to follow along on Twitter in real-time as we give our thoughts!
