Defensive Tackle OR Running Back

There are two areas of concern on the roster we’ll address later. However, this area is more of a luxury or thinking of the future more of anything.

The Noles have two running backs in Jashaun Corbin and Lawrence Toafili, who look to be quite capable of being a tandem in 2021.

However, if the Noles can find a talented running back in the transfer portal, I would not be opposed to them bringing him aboard. The running back position is one in which injuries can accumulate quickly, so having many talented options isn’t a bad thing.

If an option doesn’t become available, Corbin and Toafili should prove enough along with Ja’Khi Douglas and others.

If a running back doesn’t become available, the area I’d like to see addressed is a defensive tackle. Robert Cooper will likely be gone after the 2021 season, and Fabian Lovett would be eligible for the NFL Draft as well.

That leaves little depth at the position since the Noles didn’t sign an eligible defensive tackle in the 2020 class. The Noles have some players in the 2021 recruiting class that could eventually play defensive tackle, but having a sure-fire option in 2021 and beyond would help continuity.

Defensive tackle is a position that’s rare for freshmen to be impactful, so bringing in a player physically ready makes a lot of sense.
