Spring Practice/Full Offseason

Mike Norvell and staff having a real offseason is something I’m excited about. The fact they were not able to have last year confounded things because it didn’t give a real indication of what’s possible with this coaching staff.

The players missed thousands of reps in the implementation of the offense and defense. They also missed nearly a year’s worth of strength and conditioning development, not to mention the time spent with coaches to develop chemistry and relationships.

This offseason is arguably the most important in recent FSU football history and will give a more apple to apple comparison in terms of what to expect from Mike Norvell.

It would also mean we would get to have a spring game! Now, I know spring games don’t mean anything, but it’s still exciting to see the guys in action when there isn’t much going on sports-wise.

Hopefully, the Noles having a spring practice means the staff will be able to host recruits soon. That’s another aspect I’m interested in seeing when things get back to normal. It sucks having to grade on a curve of sorts because of COVID-19.

These three things would be some great gifts for FSU football fans. If all three gifts are received, I think we’ll see an improved product in 2021 and beyond. Merry Christmas from the Chopchat family, and thank you all for supporting our content!
