Transfer Portal Success

We’ve talked about recruiting spots that will likely go to prep players if the Noles can sign them. That leaves about 3-4 spots for players in, or that will be in the transfer portal.

The Noles need a wide receiver, defensive end, offensive tackle, and I could see them taking a running back if he’s too talented to pass up and wants to join the movement.

I think FSU has to land at least one wide receiver, defensive end, and offensive tackle from the portal. If they double up on a position, I’d expect it to be either defensive end or offensive tackle.

I spoke about the importance of taking talent from the portal as opposed to the school ranks.

The players from the portal give the Noles a better shot at being competitive in 2021, which allows younger players to continue to develop.

Fabian Lovett is a prime example of the Noles taking a transfer last year, with him contributing immediately.

The same for Jarrian Jones and Meiko Dotson, although Dotson was injured a lot, and Jones didn’t quite live up to expectations. A successful haul from the transfer portal will shorten the turnaround for Mike Norvell and staff, and I think we’re all invested in FSU football winning more future games.
