Offense Line Is Strength

The offensive line is arguably the best unit on the team, something that would have been inconceivable in the preseason.

Admittedly, it helps to have Jordan Travis being able to use his legs to escape pressure, but they have done fairly well in pass protection all season.

What surprised me was their ability to run block against Notre Dame, as there were some huge holes hit by La’Damian Webb.  Webb was the featured running back on the night with 13 carries for 59 yards (4.5 ypc) and a touchdown.

However, it does help to have Jordan Travis as a running threat, as he carried the ball 19 times for 96 yards and a touchdown.

The FSU offense had success running the ball on first down most of the night. Their problem was a lack of success on second and third downs. However, they were able to go 4-4 on fourth down.

The success of the offensive line indicates the future is bright for the FSU offense under Mike Norvell.
