FSU football is looking for playmakers on both sides of the ball. A blue-chip wide receiver is back on the market after de-committing from Kansas.

FSU football has two wide receivers committed in its 2021 recruiting class and is thought to be a good position for another in Destyn Hill (formerly Pazon).

Three receivers seemed to be all the Noles would need in this recruiting cycle, but another target is back on the market in four-star Keon Coleman.

Coleman had the Noles in his final six list of schools before ultimately committing to Kansas on July 4.

As been the case with many recruits, Coleman felt he rushed his decision due to the circumstances with COVID-19 and released this statement Tuesday night:

Coleman is a dual-sport athlete that plans to play basketball along with football in college, so Coleman picking Kansas made a little more sense back then. However, among the schools in his final six, FSU and Michigan State seemed to be the best of both worlds.

He also had South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma in his final six. Ironically, the Noles didn’t make his final list of 3 schools released nearly two weeks before he committed to Kansas.

The other two schools were Oklahoma and South Carolina. South Carolina still makes no sense to me, but I can see a blue-chip wide receiver going to Oklahoma to play in Lincoln Riley’s offense.

I guess the question is, will the Noles turn up the heat again to try and add Coleman to the 2021 recruiting class? I think so. FSU will lose Tamorrion Terry after this season, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see them lose one more to attrition.

He checks in at 6’4″ and 185 pounds, and is considered the No. 259 ranked player nationally, No. 44 wide receiver and the No. 9 player in the state of Louisiana.

It should be noted the aforementioned Hill is also from Louisiana, which is where FSU running back coach David Johnson has strong ties.
