FSU football: Time for total youth movement after Miami loss

FSU football suffered an embarrassing loss in prime time against their arch-rivals. It’s time for Mike Norvell to go with a total youth movement.

FSU football has been dealt a bad hand with hiring a new coach in a year like 2020. Did not having a spring hurt this team? Yes, but it’s time to throw that excuse out of the window.

Could the coaching staff make up all of those practices missed during the two weeks after the Georgia Tech game?

Of course not, but there is no reason they should get wrecked the way they did against Miami Saturday night. Miami played with a fire the Noles haven’t played with in years. They played with a passion and desire, a will to want to embarrass FSU.

Guess what? That’s what they did, and all the FSU football players could do was talk smack losing by 30 points, and commit dumb penalties that cost their team more.

Marvin Wilson talks a good game, but he hasn’t shown me anything through two games. I gave Tamorrion Terry a pass against Georgia Tech with the passing of his grandmother, but he didn’t show up Saturday night.

James Blackman was James Blackman, and I’m not sure what Adam Fuller is doing with this defense. However, the biggest problem on this team is the attitude of the players. A large portion of them need to go, opt-out, hit the portal.

If they don’t decide to do that, Mike Norvell needs to sit them on the bench and go with a total youth movement against Jacksonville State next week. If we were going to see any improvement in this team, it would have happened against Miami.

It’s a freaking rivalry game against a team none of them have beaten before that they had two weeks to prepare for, and they come out and play like that?

I’ve seen enough from the older players to know they are what they are, and it’s time to go in another direction.

If Mike Norvell wants to show accountability, this will be the move next week. If not, I’m not sure I can take him seriously when it comes to accountability.
