Coaches’ Message

As a new coaching staff with little to no recruiting ties in the state of Florida, it’s up to Mike Norvell and staff to promote what’s possible at FSU, right?

They can sell the tradition of the university and prestige of the program, but ultimately, the recruits have to see what FSU football with Mike Norvell looks like.

The only thing he’s been able to do thus far is to show examples of what his teams from Memphis look like.

Under normal circumstances, they could visit campus and attend practices.

The only problem is, they haven’t been able to see any of that because of the recruiting dead period repeatedly being extended since March.

That leaves the coaching staff with putting a good product on the field in the revamped 11-game schedule.

The Georgia Tech game showed some improvements with the team, but it was the first game after missing most of the spring practice, so everything wasn’t expected to go smoothly.

However, they will have had two weeks to prepare for a Miami team that didn’t look great against UAB in their season opener.

I think the goal for this staff is to get progressively better with each game.
