Final Thoughts

FSU’s defense allowed a freshman quarterback and a host of average players to average 6.54 yards per play in the game.

They allowed Georgia Tech to convert 8 of 16 third downs, but the was the second half where most of the collapse took place.

Georgia Tech averaged 5.63 yards per play and was 5 of 9 on third downs in the second half. It’s eerily similar to the narrative from last season where the defense got worse as the game went on.

I know some people will only look at them giving up 16 points, but if they allow nearly 450 yards of offense every week?

I can assure you they will give up much more than 16 points the majority of the time. Adam Fuller’s got two weeks to prepare this defense for a team that’s similar to Georgia Tech.

Miami’s offensive line isn’t good, but they have a mobile quarterback and speed at the wideout position.

If the defense doesn’t get fixed in a hurry, FSU will be lucky to win two games this season.
