Final Thoughts

It’s as simple as players making plays, FSU didn’t and only averaged 3.6 yards per play for the game. Outside of a few play calls, I thought Mike Norvell called a good game.

As I mentioned, the Noles could have been up big in the second half if the receivers came down with a couple of passes.

Are the issues something that can be corrected in the bye week? I’m not sure, as they seem to be the same issues they’ve had the past few years.

There’s a lack of consistency all over the offense, and their third-down conversion percentage was terrible.

Teams are not going to win many games by converting 6 of 17 third-down opportunities. When they did get something going, someone would get injured, or they’d commit a false start penalty to stop the momentum.

I thought the FSU defense would be the strength of the team, with the offense playing well enough to help the Noles win seven games or so.

It appears I was wrong on both accounts, and I’ll be addressing the defensive issues next.
