FSU defense will hold opposing offenses to 4.75 yards per play or lower

The FSU defense caught a lot of flack for its performance last season, but that’ll happen when your defensive coordinator is forced to run a scheme he’s never coached before.

Advanced metrics placed the Noles as the No. 61 best defense in the nation, a far cry from the standard FSU is accustomed too, not to mention the level of talent on that side of the ball.

However, I expect a stark improvement over the last two seasons with Adam Fuller as the defensive coordinator.

He’s shown on two separate occasions he’s been able to make a major impact in his first year with a team.

The ‘Noles allowed opposing offenses to average 5.31 yards per play last season, and I expect that to drop in 2020.

The defensive line has depth and experience, the same for linebackers, and the secondary. Fuller’s defense is more aggressive, which should result in more tackles for loss compared to Harlon’s Barnett’s more read and react style.
