Offensive Consistency

I’ve said it time and time again I expect the defense to carry the load for FSU football in 2020.

Mike Norvell is a proven offensive coach, and he, combined with Kenny Dillingham has created some impressive offenses while at Memphis.

Can they create that magic while at FSU this year? I think they’ll improve things compared to the last two years, but I also think there will be times the offense isn’t consistent.

A lot of it will hinge on the offensive line’s ability or inability to do their job. The other part will be on redshirt junior James Blackman to improve over last season.

Both will need to do this while playing in a new offense, so there will likely be kinks and frustrating times as the players acclimate to real game action.

It can’t be understated how important missing spring practice was to this phase of the game. The coaching staff and players did all they could to simulate things over zoom calls and learning the verbiage.

However, the execution of the offense could be hit or miss, especially in the first half of the season.
