Offense

Mike Norvell said the defense dominated the line of scrimmage. That’s something FSU football fans are used to by now, but he oddly doesn’t seem overly concerned about it.

It sounded like a culmination of things that hindered the offense other than going up against a good defense.

There were penalties, tackles for loss, and missed assignments. The biggest takeaway is something we already know.

The offense isn’t good enough to consistently overcome second and third and long situations. Norvell specifically mentioned James Blackman having a couple of plays he wished he could get back.

Blackman was the only QB he mentioned other than Tate Rodemaker getting more reps.

James Blackman is going to be the starting quarterback barring something drastic happening. Mike Norvell says he’s happy with how he’s progressing, and there are three weeks to continue working out the kinks before the Georgia Tech game.

Hopefully, the offensive line can have a set 5-8 dependable players to trot out there and protect him.
