FSU football is in striking distance of a top 15 class despite some obstacles. I look at three things they need finish strong.

There’s a lot to like regarding how FSU football coaches have managed to assemble its 2021 recruiting class.

It’s a new staff with a program coming off three consecutive mediocre years while battling unprecedented times during a global pandemic. It has been a challenge, no doubt.

Despite the obstacles, the Noles are currently ranked No. 21 after landing three-star wide receiver Malik McClain a few days ago.

They’ve got their No. 1 target at quarterback, four-star Luke Altmyer early in the cycle, and a big commitment from legacy linebacker, four-star Branden Jennings.

The commitments in the secondary are among the best in the nation. They only need one or two more players at that position.

The defensive end position has been addressed for the most part, and the same can be said for linebackers and wide receivers.

They have 15 players committed with space for maybe 8-10 more players. The good news is they have some solid players left on their board that could help them finish strong.

Let’s take a look at the three main recruiting needs left for the 2021 recruiting class.
