FSU football: 3 recruits Noles could land with Big 10 canceling season
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has addressed several needs in its 2021 recruiting class but still has holes to fill. The Big 10 canceling their season could be beneficial.
FSU football recruiting has hit a lull in August, holding firm with 14 commits, with the last one coming joining the family nearly three weeks ago in offensive lineman Kimo Makaneole.
The Noles have addressed some holes on the offensive line, but need a couple of more tackles in the 2021 recruiting class. They’ve yet to land a defensive tackle and could use another defensive end in the class as well.
The trenches are where this program has struggled the most in the last few seasons, aside from the quarterback position.
I feel comfortable with the latter under Mike Norvell. I believe he and the staff will fix the offensive line situation too, but defensive tackle has me concerned.
The addition of transfer Fabien Lovett is more valuable now with two defensive linemen opting-out of the 2020 season. However, his value will skyrocket next season once Marvin Wilson, Corey Durden, and possibly Robert Cooper leave for the NFL Draft.
The Noles have some young players that could eventually be good, but they need difference-makers in the trenches to make that next step to challenge elite programs consistently.
The Big 10 Conference tried to lead the charge to cancel the college football season, thinking others like the SEC and ACC would follow suit. However, that wasn’t the case, and now FSU football could benefit from their decision not to play.
Here are three recruits the Noles were competing against Big 10 teams for who could ultimately choose the Noles.
