FSU football got an early Christmas present Wednesday with redshirt sophomore Cory Durden indicating he’d be coming back in 2020.

FSU football will likely be losing arguably its best defensive player if/when defensive tackle Marvin Wilson declares for the NFL Draft.

That, and the fact the entire defensive line failed to live up to expectations this past year had a lot of fans on edge about how the defensive line could look in 2020.

The other question fans wanted the answer to was if redshirt sophomore Cory Durden would return of his junior season or declare for the NFL Draft.

There’s a shot he would have gotten drafted had he declared as he performed well at times this season. However, Durden seemed to indicate he’d be returning in 2020 with a tweet directed towards FSU football head coach Mike Norvell.

The exchange can be seen below and obviously Mike Norvell is fired up about the news.

This is big time for Norvell to get buy-in from players he didn’t recruit and the second upperclassman on the defensive line to decide to come back in 2020.

Junior defensive end Janarius Robinson indicated he’ll be returning as well. Let’s talk about the importance of Durden returning in 2020.
