Quarterback Competition

I was one of the first people to write about how the COVID-19 pandemic would affect the quarterback competition.

The odds on favorite to win the job was redshirt junior James Blackman. He’s the most experienced quarterback, but he’s attempting to learn a new offense just like the other three quarterbacks.

Spring practices getting canceled hindered him, and true freshman Tate Rodemaker enrolling early didn’t get the usual benefit of that with only three spring practices.

That gives Chubba Purdy and much-more even playing field that he would have under normal circumstances.

Jordan Travis is a QB they could have some running packages for as he showed he’s dynamic with the ball in his hands last season.

The first two games on the schedule could make going with a younger guy more appealing if the competition is fairly even as well.

If the Noles can get improved QB play along with an offensive line that doesn’t get them murdered multiple times per game? The Noles will likely surprise some teams in 2020!
