FSU football is in the mix for several blue-chip players in the 2021 recruiting class. A local blue-chip list them among his top five programs.

FSU football continues to make the top lists of schools for some of the nation’s best players.

That trend continued Friday when four-star safety target Ahmari Harvey placed the Noles among his top five list of schools.

Harvey’s a local product from Tallahassee who attends Florida State University School. He’s been a long-time target of the Noles as he was offered by Willie Taggart’s staff in January 2019.

Harvey announced his top five schools via his Twitter account below:

Harvey is a player that’s been on FSU’s campus multiple times since being offered. The old staff pursued him and got him on campus at least eight times last year.

Mike Norvell and staff were able to get him on campus twice before the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down.

He checks in at 5’11” and 171 pounds and is considered the No. 179 player nationally, No. 8 safety, and the No. 28 player in the state of Florida.

Harvey holds 21 offers from the likes of FSU, Florida, Miami, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, West Virginia, and other smaller schools.

The 247 Crystal Ball Predictions have FSU and Florida with 50 percent of the votes. The Gators surged in February for Harvey, but the Noles swung the tide back with all of the latest predictions in their favor.

Harvey’s an important recruit in this cycle. A local blue-chip recruit that’s at a position of need with FSU football losing Hamsah Nasirildeen and Cyrus Fagan after this season.

A commitment from him would be a huge win for Mike Norvell and staff, especially since it would mean beating the Gators on the trail for a player in FSU’s backyard.
