Virginia Tech

The last time these two teams matched up was one of the most hyped pre-game moments I can remember.

FSU football fans had Doak Campbell Stadium rocking as they opened the Willie Taggart era as touchdown favorites.

However, what proceeded to take place over the next 60 minutes was foreshadowing of things to come with Taggart as head coach.

The 24-3 loss was a complete embararssment and a game FSU fans won’t forget anytime soon. There’s a lot of history between the two teams who are not that far apart geographically.

Not to mention Virginia Tech always trying to insert themselves into the “DBU” conversation  despite not being a true contender.

I put this game No. 1 since the last time these two teams squared off seemed to be a turning point for this FSU football program. Indeed, they were not a great team in 2017, but they had won four games to close out that season and were in a position to be a better team in 2018.

There’s no reason they should have performed the way they did after getting hyped by that coaching staff all offseason.
